Diamond Cummings from Swartz Creek High School bowled her career high game of 278 on Saturday, January 18th at Gerlach’s Lanes in Lapeer. The big game helped her team to a come from behind 17-13 victory over Lapeer West. Diamond started off the last game with the first 9 strikes before leaving the 3 pin on her tenth shot, she then picked it up and finished the game with another 9 count for a 278 game on lanes 11-12. At the same time on lanes 9-10 at Gerlach’s, Diamond’s classmate Cal Wykes from Swartz Creek continued his hot bowling and finished his last game with a 6 count for a 296 game, it is the 2nd time in the last 2 weeks that Cal has started a game with 11 strikes in a row, he had a 299 a few weeks earlier at B’s Bowling.
